WOD One and WOD Three will be announced one week out. WOD Two will be announced Friday night at check-in.
All athletes, judges and volunteers will need to check-in Friday night between 5pm to 8pm to pick up their baggies, t-shirts, heat assignments, etc. at Next Generation CrossFit. They may then feel free to head four miles over to scope out the Sectionals site and find out Saturday's "Mystery WOD". We will have maps available.
All Judges need to meet with Breck Berry and Stacy Jennings at the Sectionals site at 7pm to go over WODs (Note: We'd like to take all available judges through WOD One and Three the weekend before, if possible).
All athletes and spectators may bring one guest for free. If you registered online before this rule, no problem, just bring the guest WITH YOU at time of check-in. If you have not registered as a spectator yet, you may expedite this process by doing so online. Otherwise, you and your guest can just show up at the door, pay the $50 for the both of you for the whole weekend, fill out waivers, and get in. Everyone will wear a weekend wristband to get in and out for both days. No wristband, no entry.
Children 11 years old and younger get in for free.
So again, athletes, judges and volunteers check-in Friday night at Next Generation CrossFit, judges meeting at 7pm and all spectators check-in Saturday morning at the Sectionals site.
Currently registered:
95 male athletes, (only 5 more spaces available)
35 female athletes (new cap is 50 - only 15 slots left)
49 Volunteers (only room for one more)
143 Spectators and Guests (500 cap)
Concerning the layout of the weekend:
After brief announcements and the National Anthem at 7:45, WOD 1 will start on the button at 8am. We will move heats through every half hour. We should be able to finish all heats by 12pm.
At 1pm, WOD 2 will begin. It will be shorter, allowing for heats to pass through every 20 minutes and should finish by 5pm. After a few announcements to conclude the day, you will be free to go take your ice baths after 6pm.
Same format for Sunday: 7:45 announcements/Nat'l Anthem. 8am sharp we commence the Sectionals.
We hope to have the award ceremony at 1pm. After pictures, hugs, etc, everyone will be dismissed by 2pm.
We need a really good singer to step up for the National Anthem. Now, this ain't American Idol, so if you know you can pull it off, please give me a call.
We encourage all CF gyms to bring their banners to hang up for the event for the whole weekend as we will have plenty of wall space and want to help you advertise. Also, if you want to sell your gym T-shirts, great! You may sell them on Sunday.
C2 Rower is loaning us some rowers for the weekend and have asked us to sell them for a discounted price afterwards for those interested. We will also do this on Sunday.
Due to an insuperable amount of emails, phone calls, texts, etc, I apologize for not returning everyone's calls. Hopefully this post will answer many questions for now.
