"If one can stick to the training throughout the many long years, then will power is no longer a problem. It's raining? That doesn't matter. I am tired? That's besides the point. It's simply that I just have to."

1 rd + 101 Dubs rx'd.
I should've pushed harder on the first set of dubs. I did sets of 25 and probably could've done 30-40 at a time.
Great job 6am!! I love working out on a cool spring morning.

A bunch of people have been asking me why in the world I did four WODs yesterday.
On June 9th at CrossFit OKC, they are hosting a competition (called "Anarchy in OKC", or "AOK") which includes a 40-49 year old category. This competition allows me to compete for the first time against other guys my age. I have been training for this in mind for about a month now.
The competition includes four events in one day, which should explain yesterday's weirdness. I wanted to know what it felt like, how I should handle rest periods, nutrition, mental state, fatigue, as well as overall muscle soreness, etc. The day was a huge success for me, as I know much better now what to expect and what to plan for.
(Big thanks to the Kymm and the girls for letting me crash their women's only class, Lindsey for rescuing me with some emergency supplements and Stacy for getting me through my WOD4)
This will be my first official competition since competing at the South Central Regionals in Ft Worth, 2009. Although I'm not in my best shape yet, I want to do well and represent NextGen as well as earn the respect of my gym, the CF community, my family and myself.
Big thanks to all who've been pushing and encouraging me lately! - Eric

Orphan Runners...
Just a reminder that Packet Pick-Up is tonight from 5-7 at Crossfit Primus in Owasso. The packet has your number bib, t-shirt and other info in it. There are almost 500 runners registered (as of Tuesday night) so if you can come by and get your packet early, it will reduce congestion at check-in on Friday evening.
The last opportunity to register for the race is tonight from 5-7pm at CrossFit Primus in Owasso.
