Skill/Strength: Foam Roll all major muscle groups (15 minutes)
WOD: "Fran"
Thrusters (95/65)
Pullups
21-15-9 reps for time.
***Anyone who got their bodyfat measured and did the "Fran" WOD at the beginning of January for our "Zone/Paleo Challenge" will need to re-test today. Also, a quick email or post to comments on the experience would really help to gather and measure results.***
***We still have room in our February "On Ramp" class starting at 7pm tonight, if anyone is interested. Our next round of 12 sessions will start at 7am on Mon, Feb 15th.***
One month ago I did this in 9:10 with 33# bar and black band. Today it was 6:56!! And I've lost 10 pounds! And I don't look like such a cow anymore, just a pregnant goat! :)

My Zone journey actually started back in the beginning of Sept. I lost 16 pounds in about 2.5 months which also ended up being the first trimester of my pregnancy. I immediately noticed I was sleeping better, more patience, no mood swings, and best of all no headaches. I fell off the wagon a little between Thanksgiving and Christmas thanks to the 1st trimester "yuckies" and holiday temptations. I started back strict on Jan 1st with everyone else. I did not do my body fat measurements but I have followed the Zone strictly all month and can say that I am now 5 1/2 months pregnant and have only gained 4 pounds. In fact, I bought my first pair of maternity jeans a couple of weeks ago and had to buy a size smaller than I normally wear in regular jeans. I can still see my body leaning out in my lower and upper body (not so much in the middle:))but mostly I feel FANTASTIC. I have NEVER said that durimg a pregnancy before.
I did my first "Fran" Oct. 12th= Mod: 53lbs and Black bands TIME: 11:31
2nd "Fran"- Jan. 4th= Mod: 53lbs and green bands TIME: 7:09
3rd "Fran"- Feb. 1st= Mod: 53lbs and green bands TIME: 7:07 Hey, it is a two second PR and I am 5.5 months pregnant.
I LOVE CROSSFIT AND THE ZONE!!! Thanks for all of your support and encouragement. It makes a huge difference. One of these days after I pop out this baby I will show you my before and after pictures!!!

great job laura & Michelle!!! so proud of you!!!!
my fran is nothing to report due to the fact i was a being a big ol baby & use the 33lb bar...my time did not improve 5.03 to 5.12.
what did improve was my HEALTH! i followed zone (so did Chris) we did 'cheat' a little this past week but our cheats were even 'balanced' with the rest of the day...
so the big results:
total pounds lost = 8
body fat went from 23% to 19%
my 'pinch' numbers were MUCH different this morning versus a month ago - to the point Eric even said, 'holy ___'
Chris lost another 2% in body fat - but did not lose any weight which is great he didnt need or want to.
i LOVE the zone - i'm really happy we did this. i feel great. the BIGGEST difference (other than my jeans fitting MUCH better) has been I'M NOT SORE. i'm convinced it has to do with eating 'clean'.
we plan to continue the zone but with some fun cheats...i'm DYING for Mexican food!!!

The Zone is great, I was only able to make it to the gym 5 times in the month of January but I stuck to the Zone 90% of the time. My first WOD was Fran my time was 9:54mins (53lb thruster, pullups rx'd). Today my Fran time was 8:15mins (53lb thruster, pullups rx'd).
Nicole thanks for keeping up the Blog I checked it everyday, and still look back to it for a resource, I hope to see some more post soon.
The 6pm class was exciting with all the cheering. Eric bring on the next challenge before the hot summer heat comes in!!!

4:00, goal was sub 4.
Awesome workout, felt 100 times better this time than 30 days ago. I can attribute some of that to "Paleo" eating. Admittedly, I wasn't as strict as I was shooting for, but I do think it had a definite positive contribution to a PR (by 39 seconds).
