"Hero's Week"

"Murph"
For time:
Run a mile
100 Pullups
200 Pushups
300 Squats
Run a mile
Partition the pullups, pushups and squats as needed.  Start and finish with a mile run.  If you've got  a twenty pound vest or body armor, wear it.

Amd_michael-murphy In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005.
This workout was one of Mike's favorites and he'd named it 'Body Armor.'

Murph was awarded the Medal of Honor for his unequaled bravery and valor in the face of overwhelming opposition on the deadliest day of battle in US history for the Navy SEALs.  For a description of that day, click here.
An eyewitess account of that day can be read about in the incredible book, "Lone Survivor" by Marcus Luttrell.

incredible is an understatement for "Lone Survivor". It is absolutely unbelievable!!! A MUST READ for everyone.

I read the book amidst a busy work/family/training schedule in only four or five days. I can't recommend it high enough for crossfitters. GREAT book.
I'll definitly be wearing a 20lb weight vest from here on out whenever I do this WOD.

I have also read this book. It is truly amazing. Must read for everyone.

I did "Murph" on the day I found out I was pregnant. As Rx'd 50:42. Ask Wade what his time was...unbelievably fast!

Rest day for me today, ya'll have fun!

Worked out at a leisurely pace with Mindy this morning. It was fun, and it felt good to focus on form on the OHS. 65lbs felt light.

Great job everyone doing Murph, especially Romney and Ailee for completing it as rx'd!

46:58 as rx'd. I'm glad that's over! Thanks Will for helping me count this morning!

46:08. I have been spent all day. actually going to nap now while my boys are sleeping. Great job Ailee, Glad you were by my side for this one! Steve, I know you hate to run and you did it! Way to go!

40:00 as RXD. This was a killer workout.

44:41 as rx'd. Thank you 4pm class for putting up with the Darby clan! This was a tough one - but I am glad I did it (and that it is over).

44:17 rx'd. Loved it--and hated it.
