Today was to be my gauging point for how far I've come in the past 3.5 months.
I was totally fired up going into this WOD.
"Fran" (was shooting for a sub-4 minute)
As rx'd - 6:03 (1:22 slower than my 4:41 PR)
Tried a few things different today;
1. No rack. Pulled from the ground to start thrusters. (faster than racking/re-racking)
2. Went with butterfly pullups. (faster and more efficient)
3. No gameplan. (normally I take forced rests to control breathing. Simply attacked WOD today like I was at the Qualifiers)
Could not catch my breath. Felt so out of shape.
Seriously questioning my decision to compete at the qualifiers at this point.
Everyone is so much faster.
I agree with Andy on this Eric. I don't think you can gauge the last 3-4 months on just one workout and I also don't think you can gauge it on a workout you did by yourself. If someone would have been there yelling at you, I know you would have done that workout alot faster. From experience, I did "Fran" at a regular gym by myself once and thought I would knock it out sub 4 minutes but it took me every bit of 6 minutes to complete. So don't get down on yourself we are 7 days out!
Quitting is NOT an option. You are Eric Barber. You have worked so hard for this and you are going to represent!! We are all so proud of you guys and Luila. Tomorrow is a new day. Stay tough.
Thanks everyone.
Not quitting. Just being honest, transparent.
Failing is a lot different than quitting. I know that.
All done feeling sorry for myself and back on track.
Eric, I am so proud of you! You are amazing to be training yourself, a few hundred or so other people in the last four months, your wife, a few kids here and there, and still run a new business, pay bills, eat in the zone, date your wife, play with your kids, and I know I'm leaving out a few other things I can't even imagine (like researching wods and programming?). You inspire me to keep going and never quit. I love you. You will win because you are a winner.
135-140-145-155-155. Thanks for the L sits afterwards Eric.

Workout from home gym:
21-15-9
Snatch (10lb db's)
squat cleans (10lb med ball)
burpees (clap hands oh, feet off ground)
12:20
It was a fun workout, but harder than I thought. I thought I'd get through it in five minutes!
